Our Customers Love Us
What Is Liquidation Furniture?
Closeouts
Closeouts happen when stores stop selling a furniture line to make room for new inventory. The pieces are still brand new, just no longer sold in stores. Retailers discount them, and we buy these items to offer you high-quality furniture at a much lower price.
Overstock
Overstock happens when stores have more inventory than they can sell due to over-ordering or changing demand. The furniture is brand new, but discounted to clear space. We buy these items and pass the savings on, giving you high-quality couches for less.
Cancelled Orders
Sometimes customers cancel orders after the furniture is made or shipped. Even though it’s untouched and like new, stores discount it to sell quickly. We buy these pieces and pass the savings on, so you get high-quality furniture for less than retail.
Returns
Customer returns are items sent back shortly after delivery, often barely used. Even in great condition, they can’t be sold as new. We inspect and clean them, then resell at a discount—giving you high-quality furniture for much less than retail.
Floor Models
Floor models are the items on display at retail stores. People test these out and they are periodically switched out. They are typically like-new but can’t technically be sold as new. We receive these items in bulk at a big discount and pass those savings on to our customers.
Haul-Away/Trade-Ins
Some high end retailers offer haul away services or trade in programs for their customers when they purchase a new item but the old one is outside the return window. We partner with several of these retailers to pickup these items which are generally gently used or like new. If one of these items doesn’t meet our standards for quality we generally donate or dispose of them in an as eco-friendly was as possible.
Impact of Furniture Waste
The EPA estimates that 9 million tons of furniture are tossed every single year. That’s roughly 5% of everything brought to landfills (source). Shopping at CouchCycled allows you to participate in the circular economy to keep items in circulation and out of landfills.
